What is Orthotics?

Orthotic Insoles

Prescription orthotics look like regular soles, but are biomedical appliances that are custom engineered to correct your foot imbalance. They reduce stress and strain on your body by gently correcting foot abnormalities. Orthotics fit into your shoes and are comfortable like insoles.

Anyone may use prescription orthotics because they are custom made for your comfort and your specific foot imbalances. Individuals suffering from poor foot mechanics are strongly encouraged to use orthotics.

The symptoms of poor foot mechanics include any of the following:

1. Localized foot pain

2. Bunions, hammer toes

3. Arch/heel pain

4. Leg/knee pain

5. Hip/back pain – even neck pain

6. Numbness and tingling

Many extended health insurance policies cover orthotic insoles, so you could have a pair or orthotics custom made for you without having to break the bank. We at Health Bound can complete an assessment, take your measurements and order your custom made orthotics within 2-4 weeks. If you believe you may benefit from orthotic insoles please do not hesitate to contact us. We also work with a variety of shoe companies who make orthopaedic shoes. If you would like to see the catalogs and styles that we carry please contact us and schedule an appointment.
